Hello,

Following the scripting path undertook recently, I also digged out the xflr5 script you made to automate the 2D analysis on airfoils. It works well, and I managed to manually run a bunch of different configurations. Now I did a small python script to create and export NACA profiles as .dat, which I manage to import and analyse via your script, and I was wondering if it is possible to call xflr5 as a command line? This would be to automate the full process of creation + analysis, in order to later link it to flow5 and create a full data base of planes for NN research.

I ask the question in this forum because it tackles a functionality not covered by flow5, which is the 2D analysis of airfoils. Also I have to mention that after the upgrade to Sonoma, I don’t have access to XFoil directly on the MAC I use. Which means I would need to use a virtual box of some sort to link it all together in case XFLR5 command lines are not available, which I would like to avoid if possible to keep the procedure simpler.

Many thanks,
Benoît

Hello,
Not sure that I understand the question. xflr5 can be launched from the command line just like flow5, e.g.
xflr5 -h

Hello,

Ok thanks! I didn’t realise the folder formats where the same and I could create a symbolic link in the same way (Mac user here). Problem solved.

Best,
Benoît
