I am using a linux system to run flow5 and xflr5.
When I define an airfoil in flow5 and click on the button to open xflr5 to run the foil analysis, the terminal gives this error:
Start your code here gio: file:///tmp/flying%20wing%20rc%20v2_tmp.xfl: No application is registered as handling this file
It used to work fine, but it suddenly stopped working. How can I tell flow5 to run xflr5 for it? Btw, typing ‘xflr5’ in the terminal starts xflr5 without any issue.
Hello,
The error message seems to indicate that the .xfl file are not associated with xflr5.
Can you please check that double-clicking on a .xfl file opens the file?

It doesn’t do run .xfl files when I double click it. But I’m not sure whether double clicking automatically ran .xfl files with xflr5 even when the transferring between flow5 and xflr5 worked fine. Just reminding you that I am using Ubuntu.
flow5 just asks the desktop to launch the .xfl file with the default application, so it would seem that the file association was lost for some reason.
If you are using KDE, launch Dolphin, right click on a .xfl file, then “Open with…” and “Remember association…”
There is likely something similar in Gnome, but I’m not familiar with this desktop.
