Problem connecting wing and fuselage meshes

Szymon SzyszkoSzymon Szyszko asked 3 years ago

Dear flow5 team,
I have been recently setting up a model with a wing intersecting with the fuselage. I followed all the guides, but I’m still left with the problem. It seems that the fuselage mesh with the cut out calculated ok, and part of the connection between the wing and the fuselage was connected together fine. What seems to be the problem is the automatic mesh adjustment that flow5 does to wing object in presence of the fuselage. The second I have placed the fuselage so its surface intersects with the wing, the wing’s mesh near the root does a weird “flip”. I couldn’t find any option to mitigate that behaviour. Have you encountered a similar problem before? Any idea how I could tackle that? I will send the relevant screens by email.
Thank you in advance!

Hi Szymon,
To build the plane, flow5 moves the wing’s inner section outwards to abut the fuselage. In your case, this causes the second section to now fall inside the first section, with an apparent inverted mesh.
The fix is to move the second section outwards.
