Hello,
I wonder how to define the inertia of a flying wing, by specifying Mass, CoG_position and inertia tensor, not by using the GUI, but directly through writing the .xml geometry input file of the scripting option.
Actually, it seems that, while writing the .xml geometry input file for the selected wing, only its mass is taken into consideration, but the option “auto estimation of inertia” seems to be activated unintentionally, and then the specified CoG_position and inertia tensor in the .xml file are not taken into account in the calculation (checked with the .fl5 file).
How can I avoid this “auto-estimation of inertia” while scripting ?
Best regards,
Clément

Hi Clément,
Indeed the field “from parts/manual” inertia is missing in the xml file which defines the plane. It will be added to the next version.
In the meantime, it is possible use the same field in the analysis xml file, by settings auto-inertia to false and specifying the values.
